Though Teri Balick has been a lifelong traveler, her recent Italy solo travel trip was a completely new adventure. Any trepidation she felt initially evaporated instantly, as she told us on her return:

When I decided to try traveling on my own, I was looking for a small group with similar interests in walking, eating and cooking. I Googled those three things and, after sorting through all the different options, Classic Journeys seemed like a good fit. I love Italy, but had never visited the Amalfi Coast. So I took a chance on that particular trip. Though it was my first time to take a vacation on my own, the feeling of incredible happiness that I felt has encouraged me to continue traveling in this way. Our Single Supplements are the Lowest.

To encourage solo travel, Classic Journeys has the lowest single supplements you’re likely to find anywhere. While some companies boost prices up to 50 percent for single travelers, we keep it to just 15–20 percent on average. We only pass along the extra cost hotels charge us, instead of marking it up to make extra profit from you.

You’ll Never Feel like a Fifth Wheel.

For starters, you already have a friend on the tour. Our local guides are with you full-time to watch out for everyone’s needs and interests. At the fine restaurants we select, you won’t find yourself at a table for one. And, the accommodations we arrange for you are “doubles for single use” so that you can have as much elbowroom as everyone else. At your request, we’ll invite another solo traveler on the tour to share accommodations with you.
