On my recent visit to Cuba, one of the many highlights was a visit to Ernest Hemingway’s longtime home, which is now a museum. While we were on the grounds, we were privileged to spend time with Ada Rosa Alfonso Rosales, the director. She’s a fierce protector of the Hemingway legacy and a fascinating woman to chat with. We also visited the La Terraza Restaurant and El Floridita bar that were legendary haunts of the author. So it was a real treat to read the article by Finn-Olaf Jones in the Wall Street Journal recently. It’s a detailed and very evocative story about how Hemingway’s connections to Cuba are revered and preserved. The author’s experiences were so similar to my own, that I couldn’t resist inviting you to read.
