Our goal is always to find the most interesting and memorable lodging a region offers. Here's one of our favorites from this itinerary. For a complete list, please call or email us.

Parador Boutique Hotel & Spa
Located on the most desirable promontory in Manuel Antonio Park, the resort has its own private beach access, as well as incredible views of the Pacific and the rainforest. Relax on the beach, go for a dip in the swimming pools, or enjoy one of the many water sports or spa options offered by the hotel.

Starting Point: San José, Costa Rica - 9:00 am

Ending Point: San José, Costa Rica - 4:00 pm

The temperature variation in Costa Rica is very small from one season to the next and from daytime to nighttime. The climate of the areas visited during the first half of the trip is mild. During the second half of the trip, in the rain forests, the climate is warmer and more humid. In the cloud forest, the precipitation (usually in the form of a light mist) from the Pacific catches on the high trees of the forest. Manuel Antonio Park is a lowland rain forest, situated at sea level. As such, it is warmer and more humid than the other areas.  However, our lodge is located in the hills above the park and beaches, offering us cooling trade winds.

An eye-popping children's book on the rain forest, geared for children ages 9-12. This book, jammed with color photographs, covers all manner of rain forest life. The concise text augments the pictures.

Costa Rica, A Traveler's Literary Companion - Barbara Ras
This well chosen anthology brings together 26 mostly modern stories by Costa Rican writers. It's a wonderful introduction to the character of the people, culture and land.
