We meet in Belize City then stop for a walk in a Riverside Sanctuary to see the lively, loud-mouthed howler monkeys. Our lodge in Cayo Rainforest (3 nights) allows for family friendly nature walks with views of hummingbirds and toucans. In the jungle we'll explore the Mayan temple of Caracol with a private guided tour that explains this archaeological treasure in terms everyone can understand. The next day offers a special highlight: an easy, slightly spooky floating tour of Barton Creek Cave. A short flight to our Caribbean lodge at Punta Gorda (3 nights) precedes a chance for the kids to try their hand at fishing. We'll have a day to snorkel over Belize's amazing coral reef, one of the world's greatest natural wonders. Equipment, instructions and supervision are supplied for all ages. The week rounds out with a dip in the cascading pools at Rio Blanco Falls…a visit to the Maya ruins of Lubaantun…and lunch with a local village family at their home. On our final day the family flies back to Belize City in time for international flights.
