Dear Fellow Traveler,
One of the nicest things that can happen to any company is a prestigious and public pat on the back. So when Travel + Leisure Magazine recently honored Classic Journeys with a World's Best Award in the Tour Operators and Safari Outfitters category—in the same month that ForbesTraveler.com singled out two of our trips for an article on Luxury Walking Tours—we knew we had to let you know.
Having won our first World's Best Award from Travel + Leisure in 2004, we're thrilled to be selected by the magazine's readers for an encore performance. Coincidentally, many of the hotels and even cities beloved by Classic Journeys guests made the 2007 World's Best list, too.
Meanwhile, the folks at ForbesTraveler.com have recognized our Morocco—Fès to Marrakesh Cultural Walking Adventure for putting guests in touch with early nomads: "After a few days meandering through the crowded markets of Marrakesh, travelers leave the medina behind for an authentic Berber encampment, where they then spend the night in camel hair tents amidst the Sahara's rolling red dunes." Sound exotic? It is!
In a clever quip, Forbes also raved about about our Tuscany & the Cinque Terre trip: "Dante mentions the Tuscan village of Monteriggioni in The Inferno, but this eight-day trek from Classic Journeys is far from hellish." For more insights, click on the Forbes link above.
Avid walkers also might want to check out a new list of the Top Ten Wellness Vacations compiled by National Geographic Traveler. Author Pam Grout lauds Classic Journeys for "amazing walking vacations complete with self-indulgent lodging (after all that time on your feet, don't you deserve it?), gourmet dining, and fascinating itineraries."
Thanks Pam! We couldn't have said it better ourselves!
Best wishes,
Edward Piegza
